OUR FEATURES ARE MORE THAN STANDARD
Our guns are unlike most standard run of the mill semi-custom or mass-produced reproductions on the market. They represent a true example of the predominantly available common weapon of the mid to late 18th century. The stock architecture is true to the originals, featuring a plain unadorned flavor, they are stained real dark with a pleasing low luster hand rubbed oil finish. All the metal or brass is lightly aged to a warm patina.

                                       AVAILABLE OPTIONS
We make available to our customers a fair amount of custom options. These options aren't intended to gussy up, but just to add more function and authenticity. If you find something that fits your liking make sure to include it on your order the first time around, changes at a later date can cause mistakes.

                WE START WITH STOCK BLANKS

We don't shape our stocks on duplicator machinery, were proud to say it's all done by hand tools. "A" grade maple is our standard grade of wood, very similar to the wood used on a plain original Long rifle. Generally having nice figure to the grain, and little or no curl, your preferred length of trigger pull and a comfortable amount of drop and cast is always incuded at no cost.

                        LOCK INFORMATION
We like L&R Locks very well, their historically accurate, and availability,
reliability, and service have been outstanding. We buy alot of them and in
turn we pass this savings on to our customers. We generally use L&R Queen Ann, L&R trade locks, and a few L&R classic, or Large Siler locks.
For a few dollars more I can install a Chambers or R.E.Davis lock these
cost a little more but are also historically accurate, reliable, very good quality locks.

           BARREL INFORMATION and OPTIONS
We offer a good selection of barrels in caliber, profile, and manufacturer.
our standard smooth bore barrels are generally Colrain or custom made
to order by Charlie Burton, We have had very good service from these two manufacturers and there Quality is very good. We offer smoothbores in
.50 .54 .58 .62 .69 .73 .75 caliber as well as 24,20,16,12 gauge.
we offer barrel lengths in 24" 36" 38" 42" 44" 46" inch and can order a variety of custom lengths. The .69 .73 .75 caliber barrels are subject to a small upgrade fee of $30 because the larger caliber barrels cost more to purchase and to ship.

               STRAIGHT OCTAGON RIFLED BARRELS
We offer a standard straight octagon barrel on rifles. These are generally Green Mountain Barrels and are an economical option the customer has.
When you order a flintlock with a rifled barrel from us this is what is offered at no additional cost. I can generally get .40 .45 .50 .54 calibers,
in 36" and 42" depending on availability.           No extra cost !

OCTAGON TO ROUND RIFLED BARRELSThis feature is correct on earlier style longrifles. We offer .45 .50 .54 .58 and .62 caliber in 38" 42" and 44" depending on availability this option cost

    SWAMPED OCTAGON RIFLED BARREL OPTION
Swamped octagon rifled barrels, are undoubtedly the single most important
feature to make your new longrifle historically correct for the mid 18th century. We offer COLRAIN brand Swamped barrels in .45 .50 .54 .58 and .62 caliber and in 31" 38" 42" and 44" lengths. At the customers request we can substitute a different name brand swamped barrel which would effect your cost slightly. The cost for the Swamped barrel option is.
                                                                                Price  $ 200.00

                                    KIT GUNS
My kit guns include the lock, stock, barrel, and a sack full of parts. The stock is correctly shaped from the lock panels back, the fore stock is left square.
I cut out for a barrel channel, either  octagon and/or round, the ramrod channel, inlet for the lock, and cut out for the buttplate shape.Nothing is assembled or installed unless agreed on at the time of order. I sometimes do a few extra steps at the request of the customer, to help on some of the steps that may be more difficult for each individual customer. The final fitting, inletting, sanding, and stain/oil is required. All of the components are included to make up a nice long-arm. However there are no instructions included, The kits we offer are not recommended for someone with limited tools and knowhow. I consider the project level advanced, And for someone with some gun-making experience.

          WORK SCHEDULE,ASKING QUESTIONS,
                        and DEVIVERY DATES
I enjoy creating these these old traditional muzzleloaders, and deliberately take my time, care, and patience to make them properly. I absolutely refuse to be hurried. Our estimated delivery date is just that an estimate.
I generally run about a year backlog and sometimes longer, I usually build one gun per week. Some guns take longer than others depending on options. It's difficult to project an exact delviery date that far in advance.
I am married and have two young daughters, I attend church, and I am a primary officer in a national charitable organization. I do my best to balance all of this and make delivery on these old flintlocks in a timely fashion, to the best of my ability. Your calls are always welcome, but please be patient. I usually work 8am till 5pm sometimes later,  5 days a week and sometimes more. during this time if you can't contact me at my number please leave a message and I will call you back. I enjoy visiting with folks and will always attempt to answer any questions you may have.

We want to thank you for your intrest and will
                                always appreciate your patronage.
