Early Rustic Arms

BACKUSBURG RIDGE, KENTUCKY

"HEAR YE HEAR YE TAKE NOTICE TO MY HUMBLE GREETINGS"

Howdy, I'd like to introduce the two of us, Larry and Terry Williams. We are grateful for our ability to be able to recreate these 18th Century weapons and consider the work we do a very important part of preserving America's Living History. We honestly appreciate all the kind people that make this work possible for us.

"ERA Gets Off The Ground and Takes New Flight in 2008"

In the spring of 2000, I constructed a 1400 sq ft workshop out behind my home in Kirksey, Kentucky. Over the last eight years ERA has been a prosperous little business, I am proud to say that I have made 600 plus scratch built flintlocks, #615 being one of the Auction Guns at the 2008 Contemporary Long-Rifle Association Show. I absolutely Love my work, it's been a good eight year run. However, being a disabled veteran the constant work and load of one or two guns per week has become difficult for me to maintain. Terry my stepson has been working as my apprentice for sometime now, and I can honestly say his workmanship is as good as mine, (not as efficient as the old man but that will come in time). He has taken on all of my existing orders and has been working full-time in my shop. I'll continue to stay on, to oversee and supervise his work, and the overall operation. I'll still make the occasional flintlock, and the two of us will attend a few shows each year.

Now in 2008 Terry has constructed a really nice modern workshop at his home in Camdenton, Missouri near Lake of the Ozarks. This is where the business of Early Rustic Arms will eventually be relocated. Terry will be accepting phone correspondence's at 1-573-216-2531. However, all payments will continue to be sent to my address )1720 Downing Rd. Kirksey, KY 42054) but made payable to Terry Williams until his new shop is up and running. We hope that is not much of an inconvenience. We will always appreciate our customers and continue to offer the best value in a handmade custom flintlock.

"COMMON GUNS FOR COMMON FOLKS"

We offer a good value in our handmade muzzleloaders, they are early traditional styles that are for the most part plain and unadorned. We start with stock blanks and finish with hand rubbed oil to produce a true scratch built custom muzzleloader. Our unique "rustic aged finish" gives a nice warm patina creating a bit of character and a good example of a common mans primitive long arm. Our guns may look the part of being rustic, however we use only quality locks, stocks barrels, and components, combined with a fair dose of Labor and Love. The results are a very rugged reliable firelock that will offer many years of hard use.
